The Leo Villareal The Bay Lights exhibit is set to be installed come March 5th, 2013. The epic display of art will be placed along the San Francisco Bay Bridge via approximately 25,000 LED lights, ones that will each be personally placed along the structure.
The Bay Lights will be displayed for two years in the San Francisco district between dusk and midnight. Villareal's project is currently being tested, allowing viewers to get a sneak peak at what's to come. Writers have estimated that the installation will be viewed by approximately 50 million residents and tourists, mimicking the lighting project that was put on at the Eiffel Tower during its 100th anniversary. Villareal's undertaking is however seven times larger than France's.
