This 18-megapixel rangefinder is the first digital device of its kind that has been constructed without the inclusion of a color filter array (CFA). Essentially, the lack of this component renders the camera colorblind and allows fans of vintage style photography to take crisp, color-free snapshots without any image-editing software required.
There have been other models that have attempted to create a similar photo device in the past, but Leica's edition is the only one in its class to include a full-frame black and white sensor and an ISO range of 320 to 10000.
