Simon Burfield's 'LEGO Wheelchair' is the First of Its Kind

Simon Burfield, a LEGO crazed designer, recently built the very first 'LEGO Wheelchair.' This incredibly amusing robotic wheelchair is the first of its kind and it actually works.

The chair is just a prototype, but so far the device can hold a person up to 200 pounds. Made entirely out of the famous LEGO blocks, it's able to move forwards, backwards, left and right.

It is powered using LEGO Mindstorms NXT's, Mindstorms motors, Mindstorms touch sensors, and rotacastor mutli-directional wheels. This geeky child-inspired device is a revolutionary take on the traditional wheelchair.

Although a tad slower than other chairs, this definitely stands apart in the fun factor. Check out the video to see how it really moves.
