The LEGO Wire Shows the Toy Company has Street Cred

In honor of LEGO's recently released 'Lego Story' comes this animated, stop-motion version of one of HBO's biggest hits: The Wire.

Stop-motion animation is always awesome -- the detail, the dedication, the constant stopping and starting, all in the name of getting that perfect frame. The LEGO version of The Wire isn't any different. Filmmaker Joe Nicolosi takes the idea of The Wire and puts his own toy block spin on it; from taking the character's tendencies to having that comedic touch about the video, he is careful not to miss any detail.

He starts off the video with the same HBO intro The (real) Wire uses: the HBO logo and a small quote about the episode. Nicolosi goes further into the theme by delving into a few of the issues faced on The Wire. Fans of The Wire will appreciate the detail as well as the nostalgia of the block toys from their childhood.
