Ledwork Lights Connect Together and Change Colors in Visual Harmony

The Ledwork lamps do a compelling job of demonstrating that light does so much more that illuminate our environment. The project presents a collection of lights that respond to each other and to people around them, and they change their optical states to acknowledge such interactions.

Created by Thomas Van Oekelen, Teun Verkerk, Tom Goijer and Cees-Willem Hofstede, the Ledwork series comprises modular devices that can be linked together by embedded magnets to take a variety of complex and intriguing forms. When joined up, the clusters of individual lamps keep their hues emitted in sync. The Ledwork units also respond to touch and movement as factors that influence the transitions of their colors and the rhythms at which they change. Light is more than a tool with Ledwork, it is an experience.
