Lauren Shimming Revamps A.B.'s Coffee and Crepes Take-Out Packaging

Lauren Shimming, a student at the University of Kansas, has designed an eco-friendly way for patrons of A.B.'s Coffee and Crepes to take out the delicious pancake treat. The locally owned restaurant has been using typical Styrofoam clam shells for their take-out orders, but with Lauren Shimming's new design, its customers will leave with a contemporary crepe cone.

The idea for the new take-out packaging was inspired by origami folding cups. What Lauren Shimming did was take the folding aspect of origami and infused it with the traditional crepe cone, creating a package that can be sealed for people on the go. What's nice about Lauren Shimming's package design is that when you do finally decide to sit down and eat, the cone can be fully unfolded into a plate off of which you can eat.
