The Lamp L1 by ODESD2 Makes a Tech Reference of a Modern Fixture

There's no real reason why a light fixture must resemble existing light fixtures; conventional forms have not been proven more efficient. The Lamp L1 by ODESD2 looks nothing like any floor lamp you will have seen before, with its large low stand, its big face and its unusually indirect means of dispersing luminescence.

Inspired by the coils of inventor Nikola Tesla, the Ukrainian design duo created this great circular light source with an extended inner rim. LEDs are installed around the inside of this edge, preventing direct beams from leaving the object. With its bright white finish, the Lamp L1 by ODESD2 functions as a reflector, offering ambient light that's cast off with a broad angle in a primarily horizontal dimension.
