Fixture-Implanted Furnishings

The Lamp + Collection Merges Illuminators and Living Room Furniture

A table lamp is ideally kept upon a table, so why don't designers just fuse two such items in the first place? The Lamp + Collection is an exploration of this idea, bringing light fixtures and storage solutions together to make three efficient and intriguing objects.

Yuval Tal of Israel worked primarily with what is best described as a floor lamp. Metal bases rise up into stainless steel shafts that appear to penetrate the various laminated wood components that make up a magazine rack, a small bookshelf and a bedside table with a single drawer. The Lamp + Collection presents quite quirky but undoubtedly practical domestic solutions. With these, fewer separate pieces are needed to furnish the various rooms in your home.
