Embrace Classic Style with the Lacoste Spring 2012 Collection

In a fashion world seemingly dominated by avant garde and often, just plain weird, unwearable fashion (thanks for that, Lady Gaga), classic styles can be a refreshing and welcome change, like the Lacoste Spring 2012 collection.

Lacoste is known for its sporty, easy-to-wear fashion, and this season's presentation was no different. This was Portuguese born, Paris-based designer Oliveira Baptista's debut collection for the brand and judging by looks that were sent down the runway, Baptista has a full and thorough understanding of what makes Lacoste an internationally recognized brand.

"It all comes down to pushing the iconic elements that are known globally in a new direction," said Baptista. "But I also wanted to develop what Lacoste hasn’t really done before, like more outerwear, and tailoring."

Taking elements from classic Lacoste, like the infamous rugby shirt, and transforming it into an dress that can be worn in several different ways, Baptista brings an element of easiness to the Lacoste Spring 2012 collection.
