I wonder if the Lacie Sound2 USB Speakers really were inspired by earbuds. I mean, they look exactly like them, just oversized. I’ve always been fascinated by ordinary objects that have either been miniaturized or blown up. No matter what it is, that one-time run-of-the-mill object somehow always becomes a novelty.
I guess this is a question better left for the designer, Neil Poulton. Made for laptops, the Lacie Sound2 USB Speakers feature audio from Cabasse and will run you about $100. I guess you’ll have to decide for yourself if these novelty speakers are for you.
