La Branche Transforms From an Old Hunting Lodge into a Modern Home

Belgium based architecture and design studio DMOA has transformed a historical structure called La Branche, in Belgium that was once used as a resting place in the woods for hunters into a beautiful home. Located in Heverlee, Belgium, the remaining exterior was kept and was assimilated into the redesign.

Inspired by the intermingling between old versus new; the result is a clean contemporary mix of architecture integrated with nature. The architects have designed a black addition that features vertical lines to the building to provide an element of mystery and freshness that contrast the rough, old brick walls.

In addition, two wings featuring brick buildings have been added to the redesign where they hold private rooms for the family. The black addition houses the kitchen, the bar and the living area that directly connect to the outdoor pool and garden.
