Cube-Shaped Music Peripherals

The Kyub MIDI Keyboard is an Open-Source Musical Interface

'Kyub' is a cube-shaped, open source MIDI keyboard that provides a new way to compose, record and perform music. It can be attached to a computer synthesizer or digital audio workstation for enhanced capabilities. Multiple Kyubs can also be attached to facilitate jam sessions and collaborative compositions.

Any computer-based synthesizer can be used to work with the Kyub. The device is equipped with capacitative sensing which, along with the internal accelerometer, allows the volume of notes to be controlled using different levels of touch intensity. The Kyub's internal circuitry monitors the keypads to detect even the lightest finger touch, which is then converted into a musical note. The information is then transmitted over a USB cable in standard MIDI format.
