The Koskenkorva Vodka Climate Action is the First of its Kind

The Koskenkorva Vodka Climate Action is an eco-focused libation from the distiller that will work to provide consumers with a more sustainable spirit and help to lead the industry in a different direction. The vodka is made using regeneratively-farmed barley that seeds agricultural fields transformed into stores of atmospheric carbon, which can help to mitigate the effects of climate change. The process include improving the soil health to increase the amount of carbon that can be captured, while also allowing for better crops and reducing the occurrence of land erosion.

CEO of Altia Pekka Tennilä spoke on the new Koskenkorva Vodka Climate Action saying, "We don’t want to do our work at the expense of our planet. Sustainable barley farming is one of the ways we aim to honor this goal, as barley cultivation is one of the major factors contributing to the carbon footprint of our products. Our collaboration with BSAG has given us access to the most up-to-date research findings and best practices."
