Krispy Kreme Japan just finished offering a limited-time dish called the Kool Krispy Sandwich, which put a delicious twist on the traditional ice cream sandwich. While Krispy Kreme has offered similar ice cream dishes in South Korea and in the US, this Japanese treat was fancier than any of chain's previous offerings.
The Kool Krispy Sandwich was an ice cream sandwich comprised of donut halves instead of two cookies. The exterior consisted of an Original Glazed donut that had been cut in half and filled with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a scoop of raspberry gelato and a sprinkling of mixed berries.
Unfortunately the gelato-filled donut sandwiches were only available until April 26th, however it is likely that the chain will have other chilly treats in store for the upcoming summer season.
