Noodles for Non-Wheateaters

Award-winning Kampyo Udon is Cute and Tummy Conscious

Tokyo-based design agency Nosigner was awarded the 2009 Platinum Pentaward in Food for their packaging of Kanpyo Udon (a new type of Udon noodles). Kanpyo Udon noodles are wheat free as they are made from dried vegetable marrow and not from wheat flour.

The non-traditional packaging design for Kanpyo Udon is based on a cartoon icon that was inspired on the amusing combination of a pumpkin and fresh noodles. The style evokes a non-industrial product and is quirky and luxurious, yet affordable.
