Jun Ishikawa is an architect who recently completed the 'Box House 06,' which offers privacy in an area that is quite public.
Most houses feature large windows these days, but this also leads to an invasion of privacy as neighbours can easily look inside. For this house, Ishikawa used smaller rectangular windows that allow the owner to look out, but not anyone to look in. To compensate for a lack of light coming in, lightwells were also used throughout the space. Indeed, when looking inside everything still seems quite bright, especially with the predominance of white here too.
