Multifunctional Mountain-Inspired Design

Jos Blom and Jasper Eustace Conceived Clever Furniture

This mountain-inspired furniture was designed by Jos Blom and Jasper Eustace. The Edmund Room is located in the new Volkshotel Amsterdam and is one of the nine "special rooms" in the hotel.

A number of objects made out of wood and rubber have been clustered together to form a modern mountain shape. The sculptural element serves many purposes, as it includes storage, stairs, a bed frame and bathroom. As Jos Blom puts it, "the mountain contains all the room’s functionality with the pinnacle bathtub being the absolute highlight."

This is also an incredibly clever use of space. The light would shade and building block aspect is reminiscent of Charlie's apartment as showcased in an older season of the HBO television program Girls.
