Jessica Barthel Captures the Magic of the Nomadic Lifestyle

After studying Fine Art Photography at Parsons in New York, photographer Jessica Barthel decided she was through with living life the conventional way.

In the years since graduating, Barthel has floated between India, Berlin, Buenos Aires and LA. It takes a certain type of person to abandon the stability of a permanent home, but Barthel's amazing job (she's shot for the likes of Harper's Bazaar, Dazed and Confused and Glamour, not to mention her personal portfolio) keeps her going. An eternal student of life, Barthel also studied graphic design in Berlin, a decision which has influenced her photography style (especially when it comes to her neat, prismatic fashion editorials).

However, Barthel's most impressive shots are taken during her travels. Each image is pulsating with the yet-to-be-discovered potential of each magical, exotic place she has the privilege of visiting.
