Jaime Hayón is the Spanish designer that's responsible for an installation of eccentric sculptures outside of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. Though the sculptures are works of art on their own, the pieces also double as functional playground equipment for visiting children.
Taking on the forms of stuffed animals and other toys, Jaime Hayón's work is complemented by bright colors and simplistic patterns like polka dots, stripes and other geometric designs. Children are welcomed to climb on the sculptures as they're built to be safe and durable. Entrances to each are sized specially for children, allowing them to sit inside and climb through its different sides. As the museum explains, "The installation transforms the space into an outdoor art gallery, playground and summer refuge, creating an atmosphere for socialising and recreation."
