Just in time for warmer summer weather, Balconi has announced the launch of new Italian Cake Bars in the U.K.
Available from U.K. grocers Tesco and Asda as of June 1st, the new Italian Cake Bars mark the launch of Balconi's expansion into the U.K. market. The new range of desserts includes the Cocoa Cream and Milk Cream Cake Bars, as well as something called Sponge Slices. The new range is meant to play into "little treat culture" and the growing demand for everyday indulgences. As Michael Inpong, Chief Marketing Officer at Valeo Foods, explains, "Balconi offers a little moment of Italian indulgence, a sweet pause inspired by the warmth, passion and pleasure of everyday life in Italy." This sentiment is also reflected in the dessert's packaging, which features Italian provenance cues like a tiny green, red, and white flag.
