If you are still planning to buy an Apple iPhone, keep waiting. If you can wait until 2009 or even 2010, you could grab one that it will run the Intel processor like all the iMacs do now when the new phones launch with x86.

According to Charlie Demerjian at The Inquirer, "The iPhone is going to go x86 in a year or two, and Moorestown is set to be the lead vehicle. A year of whispers was finally nailed down a few days ago with a comment and a slide.

They got the school at CeBIT, from which they've featured the slides attached.

"Intel will have their usual hissy-fit when this is published, but we have source after source telling us that it will happen, so we will go with that. Save your pennies boys and girls, the Iphone3 is going to be pretty nice, if a bit fascistic."
