Vibrantly Virtual Tablet Textiles

These iPad 'Retina' Wallpapers Are Psychedelic

London-based graphic designer Simon C. Page has produced a series of iPad 'Retina' Wallpapers. The cleverly named collection features textile-like designs composed of fractal shapes that modulate ever so subtly to produce patterns that shift their appearance at different viewing distances.

Up close, the designs are indeed reminiscent of a retina; miniscule lines and polygons cut swaths of shifting colors between. From afar, more holistic patterns emerge. For instance, in one design, what were myriad lines intersecting with one another with maze-like complexity become overlapping scales of blue, yellow, pink and orange sweeping off to the upper-right of the iPad.

The wallpapers are not too noisy either; they can be focused on or ignored at the user's fancy.
