Jonathan Iche's International Food Photography is Gluttonous

Jonathan Icher shows his worry for the world-wide problem of obesity with his new international food photography series titled ‘Fat Flags.' The concept is that people dressed up like their national flag eat their stereotypical national food.

This international food photography is intentionally unappetizing. The point Jonathan Icher is trying to make is that the heftiness of the American hamburger is just as unhealthy as the nutritionless carbs of the croissant, the white rice in sushi and the bleached noodles in pasta. And don’t forget the greasiness of an old English breakfast.

The people in this international food photography are all naked except for body paint in the design of their national flag. The subjects are seen gorging on their traditional food. The bright color mixed with the mouthfuls of food make this a hard series to look at and look away from.
