This Box Camera's Image Sensor Can Easily Be Swapped Out

A German engineer has developed an innovative interchangeable lens camera whose customizability also extends to the fact that its image sensor can be changed out as well.

Developed by Gaurav Singh, this particular camera takes the form of an industrial box camera that comes equipped with a swappable camera board, which opens up a whole world of modular possibilities. The camera also offers a USB board that makes it possible to connect the device to a computing mechanism whilst conveying power to the core electronics. What's more, the camera happens to be housed inside a 3D-printed case that is easy to hook up to any C-mount camera lens.

What's great about this interchangeable lens camera is that it was created using the ethos of DIY effort and open-source processes, with the code and design made available online.
