Interactive Plants Move to the Tune of Their Feelings

Researchers at Keio University in Japan have developed a system allowing interactive plants to express their emotions. The researchers say that the purpose of the project is to "make living plants even more alive."

The system works by attaching cords to the plants' limbs, which are linked up to a motor. A sensor, which is also attached to the plant, sends messages to the motors which in turn pulls the strings in a certain way depending on the emotion of the plant. The end result is a tree that looks like it's been turned into some sort of puppet.

While some find this invention remarkable and agree with the project, others comment that plants should be left to their natural beauty.
