Interactive Light Pool

Jen Lewin's 'The Pool' Binds People With Art

Jen Lewin strikes again, but this time she amplifies the human involvement in her interactive light art.
In ‘The Pool’ Lewin created a circular forum filled with 160 smaller circle pads encouraging maximum participation from people. The pads interact wirelessly and people are in complete control of how patterns are created.

Type of movement, force and speed ascertain what will take place. By simply moving a person can alter the pads function and once a person recognizes what’s happening, they can maneuver as they see fit.

‘The Pool’ is a wonderful interactive light art project. It is a model bringing people together, forcing them to engage with a piece instead of gawking at it from afar and making people feel they are an integral part of the creative process.
