The Instant Sport Wavegarden Provides an Inland Surfing Solution

Not everyone has the luxury of living within close proximity to a lake or ocean, and the Instant Sport Wavegarden was created to bring massive waves to surfers or other water sport enthusiasts who live in aqua-less communities.

Created by engineer Josema Odriozola and Karin Frisch, an avid athlete, the prototype pool has been opened up in Spain to bring the taste of water sporting inland. While there are many other wave-creating facilities out there, one of the biggest advantages that this one has over the competition is the way that the simulated waves break in the same way as they would in the actual ocean.

To further add to the authenticity of this facility, the bottom of the pool has been varied in depth to simulate sand bars and coral reefs.
