Inflatable Child Car Seats

This Inflatable Child Seat by Volvo Can Be Carried Around as a Backpack

Volvo released this concept of an inflatable child seat designed to be lighter and more portable than typical child car seats. The Swedish automaker may be more well known for designing vehicles rather than seats, but it actually has a long history of developing its own child seats. The Inflatable Child Seat Concept is but Volvo's latest child seating innovation.

This inflatable car seat can be easily carried around as it can be broken down into a backpack. Once in the car, a quiet pump system can be used to inflate the backpack into a full child-sized seat in under a minute. The seat is Bluetooth-connected, allowing for remote inflation. Weighing less than 5 kilograms, this inflatable child seat is about half the weight of a contemporary child seat.
