Infinity by Carl Jara Depicts Surreal Human Figures

Summer is not complete without some sand sculpting competitions, one of which awarded Infinity by Carl Jara, an artist based in Cleveland, Ohio, first place this year. Created for the Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Competition in June 2013, it depicts five consecutive human figures in the palm of another. From large to small, this piece has an existential element that will have people referring so philosophical ideals in no time.

Infinity by Carl Jara also one the People’s Choice award. The accompanying time-lapse video shows why. Incredibly detailed, this sculpture is very imaginative. the process may seem very tedious, but working with such material takes careful precision.
