This Aluminum-Crafted Staircase by David Mccracken Depicts Infinity

The artist David McCracken depicts an infinite staircase structure to heaven as an aluminum-crafted sculpture. This monument is titled ‘Diminish and Ascend’ can be found in Bondi, Australia as a part of its annual ‘Sculpture by the Sea’ art exhibit.

The staircase points directly to the sky with a deceiving vanishing point creating the infinite illusion. At the base of the structure, the staircase begins with a wide opening that rises from a cliff by the seashore. The clouds' presence also aid with the illusion depending on the angle being viewed. As the staircase continues to rise and become narrow, the top refines a point reaching high into the sky. This monument could be viewed as a religious structure with the belief that there is a gateway to heaven.
