Origami-Inspired Houses

This Indonesian Origami House is Surrounded by the Jungles of Bali

This Indonesian 'Origami House' is draws inspiration from the art of paper folding and is surrounded by the jungles of Bali.

Designed by German architect Alexis Dornier, the home seems to be inspired by local architecture and is topped with a folded timber roof which is what the house's name takes after. While the house has protection from the rain and sun, there remain large windows and open areas where the nature unfolding around it can be enjoyed. The home has several interesting features, including an open-concept bathroom with flooring made from rocks and a large wooden kitchen counter.

The residence looks like something out of a storybook, almost appearing as a spacious luxury tree house. This Indonesian Origami House's upscale design and tropical elements provide the perfect balance between nature and architecture.
