'India Song' Depicts Animals Lounging in Sacred Structures

India Song is a jaw-droppingly beautiful and mystic collection of photographs depicting animals -- mostly animals typically associated with India -- lounging in architecturally vibrant sacred spaces.

While the photos are no doubt visually alluring, they are intended to highlight the animal world's relationship with different aspects of Indian culture, tradition and mythology. Artist Karen Knorr's lush photographs appear to pay tribute to India's rich heritage of animal-centric fables and myths.

The photographs were captured using large format cameras and scanned to ultra-high resolutions so as to lock in every architectural details. Artist Karen Knorr then inserted images of live animals into these indulgent landscapes. The result is a collection of gorgeous photographs showing tigers, elephants, cows, peacocks and cranes making their man-made physical surroundings their own.
