Sony Has Announced Its New In-Car Receiver Which Adds New Capabilities

Sony has recently announced the next edition of its in-car receiver, which is titled the 'XAV-AX8000.' The new in-car receiver features an 8.95-inch WVGGA display.

Installing the device is now easier and only requires DIN space, which makes it compatible with a wider number of car makes. The 'XAV-AX8000' is also Bluetooth compatible and has an integrated 4 x 55W amplification system. It can also connect to an installed rearview camera. The new in-car receiver will have a $600 price point.

The new receiver will be compatible with CarPlay, as well as Android Auto. This means that users will be able to access voice commands using either of the platforms. Sony has also indicated it will incorporate support for the Abalata WebLink platform, which enables users to stream apps onto the car's display.
