Ethereal Bohemian Ensembles

The Imitation Spring 2012 Runway Show is Stunningly Sweet

New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off with its Spring 2012 collections, and the Imitation Spring 2012 presentation started things off with a bang. The show was held in a churchlike setting, with models walking down a runway covered in white rose petals resembling a gorgeous wedding ceremony.

The collection is perfect for spring, with nudes, soft pinks, lace, ruffles and pleats dominating the entire line. Delicate floral prints also play up the softness of the clothing, as opposed to the graphic florals that were so prominent in previous fall collections.

The Imitation Spring 2012 was full of show-stopping pieces, but my favorite has to be the nude and pale pink mullet dress. While I am not normally a fan of mullet dresses (or mullet anything, really), this one is breathtakingly gorgeous. As someone whose wardrobe is dominated by black and gray clothing, I must admit that the Imitation Spring 2012 is definitely something everyone can appreciate. The delicate, feminine frocks are impossible to ignore.
Trend Themes
1. Soft, Feminine Pastels - There is an opportunity for the beauty industry to release pastel-themed makeup, hair dye, and accessories to complement this ethereal trend.
2. Ultra-feminine Bohemian - Boutiques and online retailers could capitalize on the romantic, flowy dresses with tiered skirts and ruffled tops to create holiday suitcases for people that love to travel.
3. Flower Power - There's an opportunity for the floral industry to create event decor, bouquets, and floral arrangements in the soft pink and nude shades featured in the Imitation Spring 2012 line.
Industry Implications
1. Fashion - The fashion industry should continue to explore the ultra-feminine bohemian trend, mixing in vintage items with modern silhouettes to satisfy their customers' desires.
2. Beauty - The beauty industry has an opportunity to create pastel-themed makeup, hair dye, and accessories to complement this soft, feminine trend.
3. Floral - The floral industry can leverage this opportunity by creating event decor, bouquets, and floral arrangements in shades of soft pink and nude featured in the Imitation Spring 2012 line.
