The IKEA TRENDIG 2013 Collection Celebrates Chinese New Year

Blending the Chinese culture with Scandinavian design, the IKEA TRENDIG 2013 collection celebrates the fast-approaching Chinese New Year holiday in the only way the Swedish furniture company knows how. As always, the pieces are minimalist and modern, yet there are more embellishments than the designers are typically used to. This is due in large part to the inspiration behind the IKEA TRENDIG 2013 collection.

Full of bright colors, fun prints and traditional accents, the IKEA TRENDIG 2013 collection is comprised of 30 pieces in all. These include both furniture pieces and housewares. Design Milk notes, "The collection is full of the color red, which is believed to bring luck and prosperity, as well as fish symbols. You’ll also notice plenty of green dotted throughout to help balance out the red."
