Prideful Couch Designs

These One-of-a-Kind IKEA Love Seats Celebrate the 2SLGBTQ+ Spectrum

To celebrate members of the LGBTQ+ community, IKEA worked with a series of designers to create 10 different couch slipcovers inspired by 10 different Pride flags. To represent the 2SLGBTQ+ spectrum, there are designs for two-spirit, asexual, transgender, bisexual and lesbian flags, and each one tells a story of love inspired by a person in the community.

IKEA Canada says that the Love Seats help members of the community "share their love stories with the world—whether those stories are about self-love, romantic love, family love, chosen love, or community love." The one-off couches will be on display at various IKEA stores across Canada this summer. While some of the couch slip covers incorporate elements like clouds and rainbows, others play with florals, geometric shapes or hand prints to tell their stories of love.
