This Ice Cream Art Makes Music Out of Licks

Food art is cool and often makes for very colorful and unique artistic experiences, so when this ice cream art exhibit came about, it was an amazing opportunity for some sweet fun. The art exhibit doesn't use ice cream as a material for visual art, but takes it in a very different direction.

This musical ice cream art piece, named Lickestra, is a collaboration between food designer Emilie Baltz, object artist Carla Diana and musician Arone Dyer. The project sees users licking conductive ice cream cones to create musical performances.

The project works by having performers put there head through a hole in a box with the ice cream in front of them. Without using their hands they lick the ice cream cone to create different sounds with different licking motions.
