Donut-Inspired Sausages

The 'Dausage' is a Strange New Hybrid Pastry Made Out of Sausage

Drawing inspiration from the infamous 'cronut,' a Welsh man has whipped up his own kind of hybrid pastry dish. Liam Bennett has developed a cross between a sausage and a jam donut, which he refers to as a 'Dausage.' Bennett explains that the dish took him a year to develop before he eventually settled on the perfect sweet and savory combination.

Interestingly, the Dausage contains no actual pastry, but rather uses sausage in place of the donut batter. The result is essentially a meat sausage that is stuffed with the kind of jam filling generally found in donuts. The Dausage thus brings together two traditional breakfast foods in a unique and unexpected way.

While this hybrid pastry product may not be everyone's cup of tea, there are many who have already expressed an interest in the Dausage. Bennett has subsequently launched a Kickstarter campaign to help bring the product to mass market.
