Sensory Bubble Notification Systems

The Sensabubble Human-Computer Interface is Mind-Blowing

If you thought popping bubbles was just for little kids, this human-computer interface is about to, well, burst your bubble. The Sensabubble notifies users with alerts and feedback from their connected devices through texts, images and even smell by encapsulating it in a projected, smoke filled bubble. Possible through research performed by Bristol University, the machine not only creates the high tech bubbles, it also tracks them. This way icons, texts and colors can be projected on the opaque surfaces of the bubbles. Once popped, the bubble's scent can linger even after the text notification has disappeared.

The research behind this human-computer interface is being presented at the ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems.
