Taking us on a trip into the dark and twisted lanes of mystique and the unseen psychological crevasses of the human psyche, New York-based photographer Brooke DiDonato’s human emotion photo series is poignant.
"I feel like my responsibility as a photographer is to take that darkness and shape it into something visually appealing by giving it a voice," says DiDonato.
In her ‘Drift’ series, DiDonato explores what we all try to hide and shares it with the world in her surreal human emotion photo series. The photographer started working on the series while she was interning as a photojournalist for the Lexington Herald-Leader in Kentucky. She wanted to promote awareness of the feelings people go through but chose to hide.
"People identify with pictures. If you can bundle an important concept into an aesthetically appealing image, you can break barriers that words can’t," says the talented photographer.
