Mark Roberts Creates Eerily Realistic Dummies to Stuff into Trash Cans

UK-based artist Mark Roberts has created something that will cause passersby to stop, stare and probably freak out: human dummy street art. Roberts creates eerily realistic dummies and poses them around different towns in varied urban settings. His favorite pose, however, seems to be stuffing the dummy's head into a trash can. With its rump jutting out from the trash can's opening, these dummies appear as people rummaging through the garbage. Someone walking by would almost definitely assume that these dummies were actually people, and would probably give them a wide berth.

Another pose that would definitely create a shock for pedestrians is one in which the dummy is seated cross-legged, head down while wearing a hoodie that shades its face. Its eerie stillness betrays its inhuman qualities, but at first glance, pedestrians would definitely assume that this dummy was, in fact, a brooding human.

This style of street art is not seen very often, but is often more effective than painted walls, since passersby actually interact with the art. It's an incredibly inventive form of public art that is sure to shock and surprise many people before Mark Roberts is through.
