European Market is the First to Get the HP Designjet 3D Printer Series

Sales of the HP Designjet 3D printer have launched in Europe. HP is the only major manufacturer of 2D paper printers currently in the 3D printer market. Buyers in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK will be able to receive the printers in May 2010.

The HP Designjet 3D printer series was co-developed by Hewlett Packard and Stratasys.

Stratasys is manufacturing the 3D printers as part of an agreement with HP. At about $17,000 each, the HP Designjet 3D printer isn’t affordable for most hobbyists, but look for that to change as the technology becomes more commonplace.
