A Newly Built Denver Housing Complex Responds to Modern Society

PRODUCTORA, a Mexico City-based design firm, and architect Joe Dooling, have completed a housing complex in Denver, Colorado.

The new complex was built as a response to the residential needs of families in the local area. The design consists of two bright blue steel structures that sit adjacent to each other on a corner lot of a street. The end result has produced two low-cost households that can accommodate numerous lifestyles and family types.

Research in the last few years that housing types available today do not accommodate the current lifestyles of today. As most complexes were built post-war, and designed for white heterosexual family units, the designers of this new project attempt to respond to today's diversity of family structures.
