Cartier Wears House of Malakai Headresses in These Edgy Editorials

In these editorials shot by New York-based photographer Julia Comita, model Willy Cartier is adorned with eccentric headdresses designed by House of Malakai.

In virtually every photograph, Cartier is shown wearing dark, brooding expressions and striking pensive poses. Dirt-stained, well-worn gray bricks serve as the backdrop to most of photographs. Because the model is often shot standing in a corner, the brick-walls make their way into the foreground, thereby occupying a prominent position in each photograph. These gritty urban settings go well with the tribal-inspired couture that Cartier wears.

As far as the headdresses go, many are made from long, exotic feathers while others are bedazzled in spikes. The rest of his outfit is similarly inspired. Loose, flowing cloaks and knee-high leather boots help to accentuate the obscure and dark atmosphere of the shots.
