Androgynous Visceral Collections

The Hood by Air Fall/Winter 2014 Collection is Edgy and Eccentric

Fashion label Hood by Air showcased its Fall/Winter 2014 Collection in a stunningly edgy and eccentric runway show in New York Fashion Week that had everyone both delighted and bewildered.

Playing with the idea of sexuality and what it means to be male and female, designer Shayne Oliver wanted to take things one step further and dressed the models in the show in wreathes of hair extensions and got makeup artists to give the models a fabulously androgynous appearance.

Featuring sewn and cut designs, zippers, detachable appendages and subdued color blocks, the mostly black-and-white collection was adorned with surprising little details.

The streetwear-inflected Hood by Air style is quickly gaining momentum and praise for adding some visceral energy to the fashion scene.
