June Marks the Honouring Memories, Planting Dreams Initiative

First Nations Child & Family Caring Society is participating in Honouring Memories, Planting Dreams for Indigenous month this May and June. The initiative invites people of all ages to plant gardens in the shape of hearts to commemorate the lost children of residential schools.

The heart gardens are inspired by the heart garden planted by children and survivors during the TRC Closing Ceremonies in 2015. Canadians are invited by the First Nations Child & Family Caring Society to take part in the initiative. Participants can register for the event and take a photo of their Heart Garden to share on social media using the tag #HonouringMemoriesPlantingDreams. In addition, participants can read the TRC Calls to Action and send a copy to their elected official for inquiries on how they are implementing the recommendations.
