Hermes Opens Remodeled Paris Location to Showcase New Furniture Line

After 170 years of Hermes' original location in Paris the luxury retailer decided to move to a new store at 17 Rue de Sevres in the neighborhood of Germain-des-Pres. The new store which was a mixture of an existing structure and modern natural wood interior was built in order to highlight the retailers first time venture into the furniture market.

Hermes has created a space that will show off the company's new furniture line that is being launched at Milan Design Week 2011. The captivating new interior makes use of naturally-colored wood comb-like structures in order work with the boutique's merchandise.

Corporate interior designer for Hermes, Pierre-Alexis Dumas worked along with the renovation in order to create an environment that resulted in a pleasing shopping experience for guests; and building that the chic neighborhood residents could be proud of. The greatest task was the melding of the older refined elements of the existing structure along with the stimulating new enhancements.
