The MLB Has Implemented 'Home Run Derby' in 10 of Its Stadiums

In an effort to deepen engagement among visitors, the Major League Baseball's gaming department has introduced its own virtual reality game entitled 'Home Run Derby.'

The experience allows the stadium's visitors to virtually put their swing to the test. Participants will be provided the opportunity to hit a home run after being given a VR headset and a baseball bat that's equipped with sensors. Bonus points will be provided to players who can hit targets in the stands.

This game was revealed at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference and will be installed in 10 baseball stadiums in preparation of the 2018 season. The company responsible for this game has also announced that an at-home iteration of this game may be available in the near future.
