Blackberry Rum Cocktails

The Hint of Spring Heralds the Start of Spring With Blackberry and Sage

With the telltale signs of spring now well and truly upon us, there's no better time than to enjoy the delicious Hint of Spring cocktail. This cocktail was formulated by the folks at The Kitchn at their team retreat, and fuses together rum, blackberry and sage for a delightful drink that will make you quickly forget about gloomy winter months past.

This drink brings together blackberries -- fresh and frozen varieties both work -- with some sage, sweet rum and spicy bitters for a drink that has a herb-like quality as well as a comforting undertone of warmth and fruitiness.

To make the drink, mix blackberries and sage with lemon juice and syrup, before adding rum, Chartreuse and Angostura and shaking over nice. Then double-strain the mixture into a glass and garnish with sage leaf.

This cocktail does a great job bringing together blooming spring flavors as well of hints of winter, making it the perfect spring libation offering.
