Maritime Flight Dynamics SeaPhantom wants to change that and make very high speed travel practical, safe, fuel-efficient and comfortable. No easy task. By using an airfoil, Maritime Flight Dynamics’ SeaPhantom flies above the crests of the waves to reduce drag.
"While her propeller remains in the water, the body of the SeaPhantom is carried above the sea surface in ground effect. This reduces hydrodynamic drag radically, thus requiring less power and using a fraction of the fuel consumption of conventional fast boats.
It was announced that the Sea Phantom has officially moved from prototype to ocean.
